Anyone been to Nice?

Just booked some flights for a romantic (mucky) weekend away in Nice.
Anyone been who can recommend a decent place to stay, sights to see or restaurants to eat?

I was there last June for a conference. Fantastic City. Stayed at the Hotel Splendid, very agreable! Walking distance from the Marche aux Fleurs, with it's delightful Cafes and Restaurants.
Plus there's also the Heli-Air Monaco Helicopter Taxi to Monte Carlo for the ultimate night out!
Enjoy!

Having just stayed in Nice I'd recommend doing as Teri suggests and stay in Monaco, much, much nicer and much less traffic. I wouldn't stay in Nice again, in fact I'd go as far as saying that I hated it as it was far too noisy and busy. On the other hand I thought Monaco was an amazing place and can't wait to go back there, at this time of year it's very cheap too

Antibes Old Town, Juan Les Pins or Biot are all nicer than Nice itself. All these place, Nice and Monaco are linked by a great train line that runs through the tunnels next to the sea.
Nice can be a bit rough in the wrong places, but is obviously better than say Marseille or, ummm, Catford .
Another alternative is Menton - the other side of monaco
