Fuji 2600 Digital Camera, any opinions?

Have searched on the web and found various comments. Anyone got one here and what do they think regards Pic quality and Flash.
Slow recharge between pics and poor flash have been the biggest gripes on the reviews I have seen. Red Eye has been another problem some have mentioned.
I am only really after a Point and Shoot and dont want to spend a fortune. It's mainly for holiday and going to shows such as Autographica etc to get pics of me and the stars.

I bought one almost a year ago. - I have to say I thought they's been superceded now.
Gripes first
Flash. a bit weak. recently I've noticed sometimes the flash and picture dont seem to always correspond. about 1 in 10 flash pics seem to "miss" the flash.
Size. A tad bulky compared to what you can get now.
Batteries: anyting other than the supplied 1700 mah rechargeable AAs just get eaten. - the ones supplied seem to last forever.
Pluses...
Point and shoot.
Optical Zoom
Uses cheap memory card
Uses optical viewfinder - good for taking pix in low light when diigtal viewfinder (e.g. 2800) might suffer.
good cover over lense.
*Just* got back from skiing
Photos taken with 2600 Finepix here. Pictures as taken on min resolution (640x480) just resaved with extra jpeg compression.

Cheers Deano.
Are all the Pics on your site taken with the 2600??
In the States it has been updated with the 2650. In the UK we have the A204.
I thought of the 2600/2650 as you can get them quite cheap on Ebay.com

I have a Fuji MX2700 (I think). Had it about 3 years now and it takes an excellent photo. However I am looking to change it for three reasons:-
1. It doesn't have a zoom on it (They were outrageously expensive at the time)
2. The refresh rate between pictures is too slow
3. The flash is dire, and only works if the subject is about 2ft away.
I am looking at a S304 Zoom or a S602, anyone got any comments/

I've got a Finepix 2600. Generally very pleased with it. Took a load of picks last summer hols with it and all except poorly lit ones came out perfectly. Seems to suffer in poor light conditions due to lack of exposure settings (or I haven't found them..) and weak flash although OK on close ups. Otherwise a very good camera for the price.
