I have a "strange" foreign phone that I've been given (Motorola A6188). Its never destined for import to this country but the priciples are the same. It's sim free & I'm using an Orange sim in it. I'm trying to get it to access the internet for WAP services. Orange have enabled data services on the sim.
Under Browser Setup it asks for...
Proxy Server 1
Under this
Primary IP...
Primary Port...
Secondary IP...
Secondary Port...
Phone Number...
Username...
Password...
Baudrate... (2400 or 9600)
Line Type... (ISDN or Modem)
Using Demon's Wap access I have filled in all but Primary Port (they don't know either) but whenever I attempt to access use the browser, it calls up "Internet Services Not Enabled". I've also changed between ISDN & Modem without sucess.
Anyone any ideas or knowledge that may be useful? As far as I am aware, there are no other settings that I need to switch on/off & (bar Port No) am doing exactly as the intruction book says.

Puff, have you tried using the Orange WAP gateway? Or the Mviva one?
Mviva can SMS you a message with all the right settings on it, then you make calls to their gateway on an 0845 number and pay whatever the rate for calling those on your plan is.
Mail me if you need help.
