Ok, thanks to all who gave answers on my 'building a PC' thread.
I've got the basics sorted out, now i want to know what the best cards for sound and gfx are.
I'm going to be playing nice games such as Unreal Tournement, Black and White, and other 'bleeding edge' games, so top notch cards for both are required.
Mr Allison and Mr Kahn, being into recreational gaming, I'd be interested to know what cards you are using, mainly so if I ever get any good at UT I can rest assured that my *** being kicked has nothing to do with bad frame rates but me being crap at UT.
cheers to anyone with info for me.

Well graphics I would have thought was easy...any card with a GeForce 3 chipset on kicks butt....but it's expensive.
Sound...Soundblaster 5.1 with dolby surround speakers if you're going to be watching DVD movies on the PC if not don't bother with the extra channel and get a Soundblaster 1024 live and FPS1000 4 surround speakers with a sub - Creative do a bundle for about £90max for the card and speakers.
Videologic SonicFury is supposed to be good as well is you don't like Creative stuff...
Good Luck

cheers,
price is not really a problem as I have a gnome that lives under my desk who can get stuff at trade, or less than trade prices.
