Asylum 'havens' considered by UK

he idea of deporting UK asylum seekers to special safe havens in the regions they left behind is being considered by ministers.

Sounds good, got to be more appealing than being sent to live in Stoke-On-Trent.

Ahh, but if it were a UN led initiative it might happen.

It makes sense. The West has spent a *lot* of money making places like Afganistan, Kosovo (and soon Iraq) safe places to be, so it makes sense for people from there to be returned home.

 

You are of course assuming these individuals want to return home.

They know which side their bread's buttered. I'm not expecting a queue.

Very good idea. This government has to think about the long-term effects all this asylum seeker business has on this country.

I would pay more tax for them to implement that strategy. And they might be happier in their own country.

What are the army for nowadays but peacekeepers.

 

Can we not just deport them to all to Australia like the good ole days?

 

why not bung them all in butlins.... they will be running for there lifes..!!

c'mon I'm trying to be serious here. This is one possible way that the tide could be stemmed. Something needs to change.
