Turtle - did he ask for a sarcastic comment? No! It's his car, and let him do what he wants to it. Some people like the flamer kit, and others don't. He obviously does, and it's his car so let him get on with it. Wouldn't you say, bigger wheels, bigger spoilers, new body skirts, etc... aren't a bit Max Power as well? Yet most of the BBS have done it.

It's comments like this that sum up Scoobynet at the moment, and is probably why people are getting fed up with it. Somebody asks for assistance, and yet people take the pi55 out of it.

A bit of warning though. You might not get the expected result if you don't decat your car. It relies on unburnt fuel so you might be forking out more to remove your cat etc. Don't know if a VTA is needed.

I say wait for another group buy here and I'll be joining in myself..

Thumbs down

and besides Scott W FYI

He already has the big wheels, spoilers, skirts. I know him personally!

I think you'll find it's people like *you* that's turning people away from scoobynet, with your sarcastic comments

Turtle - why not use smileys then, as people will know that you are being sarcastic/jokey, rather than a single statement that can be misconstrued as having a dig?

As for me making sarcastic comments, and turning people away from Scoobynet - do you know me personally? Have you seen me post before? No. Well until you do then you will know that I don't make sarcastic comments, so please hold back on your judgements.

Anyway, apologies for having a pop at you, and welcome to Scoobynet!

Dull mode on....

Why would a turbo car with a VTA give 'bigger/more flames' ????

Like the video......... snazzy!!

What spec was the car?? did it have a VTA??

Dull Mode off

Cheers

Legacy, a VTA creates more unburnt fuel in the exhaust, which in turn gets burnt and provides bigger flames.

Mark's car is running a decat exhaust, with a Forge re-circ dump valve and that's it.

You can make your own kit..... You need a spark plug, coil, HT Lead and the necessary relay (been told its a standard flasher one but I know of somebody which supplies the corrcet ones new for £45). Wire to a 12v supply, earth etc, have a switch in line, earth the coil (obviously), HT lead from the coil to plug. Plug needs to be welded into the end of the exhaust (I used a stainless boss so i could unscrew if needbe). When flicking the switch, relay sends a pulse to the plug, hences creating a constant spark, thus causing a flame!! You can adjust flame size buy altering the gap in the plug.

All the parts are common parts normally found lying about in your garage!.. If not, goto a Ford scrappy, grab a coil and lead from anything....

Cheers
Chris

(if your not mechanically minded, SCC Performance can supply and fit them all in for £150,or £100 to just buy - as said above).

We have something similar on the bikes. Its called 'Shotgunning'. must be done with a race can as it wrecks the baffles in standard ones. It goes something like this:-

1)5k or above in a lower gear
2)hit the kill switch
3)big handful of throttle
4)shut throttle and knock kill switch back on
5)big bang and a flame out of the can (usually 6" long)

This flameout also happens on the overrun from the redline (14k)

BTW its good for loosening the fillings

Saw one running on a saab turbo the other night and it looked quite cool actually. I would say though that getting flames that way is cheating
