Why is it so hard to find a decent job recently

I have been in IT a number of years now ( VAX/VMS, PDP 11/44 " Rememeber them", DECNET 4 & 5, yarder yarder yarder etc )
I have just left a company which took a nose dive due to the general 3G gold rush which is rapidly turning into a big pile of expensive dodo.
The company I'm working for now is taking actions to reduce budgets. It looks like the " downsizing" is about to take place. It has weak business stratergy and poor team work.
IS there a compnay out there that has a clue on how to run a business.
Argggggh !
And as for agencies...... Dont get me started.

I'm an IT Contractor and that market is very down at the moment.
Agencies - Hmmmmm - I could write a few tomes on my experiences of late.
