Given the quality of some of those games, thats a steal for anyone wanting a console for a bargain price.

Hi,

Is the Sega Dreamcast any good? Or is it worth getting the PS2 or a Dreamcast and a seperate DVD player or PSOne?

And.....which console has the best driving games?

Cheers

Jay

The best console based driving game I've ever played is F355 on the Dreamcast. It's absolutely fantastic, the level of driving realism is unmatched on console. The only game I've played which is as good is GPL on the PC.

There is also Metropolis Street Racer, Vanishing Point and loads of others, check out

From talking to console owners the info I found basically suggested that the PS/2 is very advanced but doesn't have much of a game-base, games are costly and the console itself is still approx £300.

Even though the DC has ceased hardware production, games will continue to be developed for it for some time to come (companies have guaranteed it) and it has a large and cheap game-base already out there.

A console, with in-built modem and 3/4 games for £75 - well I couldn't say no to that.

PS2 is more powerful than Dreamcast, but the Dreamcast has a boatload of top notch quality games out now. Racing games on the Dreamcast you HAVE to buy:

1. Ferrari F355
2. TestDrive LeMans
3. Metropolis Street Racer

PS2 will come into its own in the next year or so, as of right now, there's no decent games for it.

I also think the Nintendo GameCube will cause a lot of surprises at this years E3 show. The console is supposed to launch in July sometime (Japan). Nintendo make some really, really beautiful software like Zelda.
