Having watched the TV documentary, and after reading the book Human Instinct by Robert Winston cover to cover, it would appear that 'certain' theories suggest this.

Evolutionary psychologists Dr. Robert Kurzban, working with John Tooby and Leda Cosmides confirmed that automatic processes, ingrained at a genetic level in the human brain, compute and make many assumptions about the race and worth of those they encounter, and thus 'cannot' help categorising and grading people by their race. This, in terms of the present UK (and world wide) position is very discouraging for any chance of human and racial harmony.

Evolutionist Robin Dunbar proposed that the size of the primate (and hence human) brain is in proportion to its ability to handle a certain size of social group. Dunbar predicted that the natural human group size could be no larger that 125 to 150, these being people whom one could strike up a conversation with, trust or ask a favour of. It would be mainly made up of friends, family members and colleagues.

Although evolutionary psychology can give succour to racist ideologies I for one believe that genetics govern the way we all behave, and that the human body is merely a host for genetic code which strives for survival over ‘all’ other genes, even if this means (at a genetic not moral level) we must wipe out all traces of competing genes, and hence hosts from this planet.

I know this theory once may have promoted eugenics, and may have contributed to the pseudo-intellectual foundation for Nazism, but it is an interesting theory nonetheless. Could this perhaps explains the hidden anger behind topics which have appeared on Scoobynet recently.

Can I ask why does everything think Racism is defined to the white man?

Chinese, japanese, Asians, Indians, Blacks are all guilty of prejudice to other cultures.

Take for instance whats happening in Zimbabwe. If that was a white dictator kicking all the black farmers out then everyone would be up in arms.

I'm sick of people playing the 'Race' card all the time to English people. Aren't we allowed to express our views on this matter of Asylum? I guess not as it would be RACIST!

Pants. While genetics can have a large effect on overall temperament (consider the number of XYYs in US maximum security prisons) - the vast majority of your opinions are generated by your upbringing, your friends, your situation and the sum of your experiences.

Fine example - southern states in the US. Once upon a time, pretty badly racist! Now, same genetic stock (if a couple of generations down the line), situation much improved. Or the Dutch - about the most tolerant society on earth. But their colonist descendents in South Africa? Hmmmm... same genes, not quite the same outlook....
