Can anyone point me in the direction of some help...I have a number of shares in companies that I cannot find on the usual money sites (so I assume company name changes etc) - I havn't rec'd details of changes as I havn't informed them of my change of address (now done).

So, how can I track to see what changes have happened...and what the current share price is ???????

Thanks in advance of some suggestions

Go to here:

http://ws1.companieshouse.gov.uk/frame.cgi?OPT=free

and do a search by name - that will let you know if the names have changed and give you basic details.

You could then, as a shareholder, contact the company secretary and request details pertaining to your shareholding.

quite happy to check them out for you... they may have been subject to a takeover and you may be a dissenting shareholder.

Post them up or mail me.

Cool

Right then, here you go;

Auiron Energy Ltd £1.75
Auxinet Plc £25.50
E-Capital Investments Ltd, now Avanti Capital, £1.50
365 Corporation Limited, now Eckon Technologies, £15.00
Try Group Limited was de-listed Oct 2000, therefore worthless i'm afraid.

Hope this helps.

Try group - you may find you now own galliford try, as shareholders who didnt respond when galliford took them over had their shares acquired automatically (galliford now worth 22p)

Professional equity systems G, i'm in a bank.

If they're not in the FT, then there are several online equity price sources out there, though few are free. But you'd have to be sure they included yours before signing up, obviously.

Merkin, if I remember correctly in the Uk there is a compulsory takeover period (think it's section 414) during which time minority shareholders may exchange their shares. After this time they become dissenting shareholders and must go directly to the bidding company to have their shares exchanged. there is no compulsion for them to do so.

Dave, in this particular case it was done under section 429, although i'm not familiar enough with the difference between this and section 414 that you mention to comment.

And although i wouldn't guarantee this information, it does look as if the offer to exchange from Try PLC to Galliford Try PLC is still open; so ScoobyK, if you haven't exchanged already, the contact number is 01895 855001, or their accountants KPMG 0121 232 3000, who should be able to guide you through the process.

Cool

To make it easy for everyone else asking :

If you own shares you bought at the height of the dotcom boom, I suggest rather than finding out the price now, you use the certificates as toilet paper, not only will this be more economically viable, you will also get a sense of gratification.

Beemerboy ....

Pacific Media is up 62% today .... to 0.7p

These aren't unlisted stocks ... use something like www.advfn.com to get these sort of prices.

steve, out of curiosity, what's the short code/ticker for Pacific Media then?

I want to find out why my system doesn't recognise the name...

Hmm, weird. Brings it up ok with the ticker, doesn't recognise it on search.

Maybe they'd rather you couldn't easily find the price!!

On 29th Feb 2000, they reached 11.75p. Don't tell beemerboy!!!
