Bad, very very bad. I could go on all night why I think this is the case but I think in general society is evolving and changing for the worst. Pack them off to the army from age 16-18 if you ask me, teaches respect, routine and disipline - probably could have done with that myself

Just about to become a father!
Looking into immigration - Aus or Canada or even France.
Not sure where this country is going or what difference i can make.
I believe my child will have a better chance at a life in a country which takes things like education, law and order, etc seriously.
At the moment the UK is not a place in which i want my child to grow up - No please or propud of this just angry and feel so helpless to do anything about the situation.

Education- fine, my kids have access to better learning aids as kids and then better schools than i did. my 6 yr old goes to same school i went to 20 yrs before....its 10 times better now.
Work- plenty of jobs and plenty of money for those that want it....all i remember as a kid was unemployment figures on the news- dont hear that today.
Debt- who knows, with the above sorted they should be fine.
Health- whats changed? they can still get ill- only difference now is doctors are better if they get VERY ill.
Security- beats living in 1901.
Safety- as above.

Personally I wouldn’t have kids today, thought about it quite a bit but soon saw sense. Were all going to hell in a hand cart and I don’t want any innocents having to come along just for the ride.
IMO the only folk who are having kids ATM are the folk who don’t know that ******** leads to kids (sponging morons who don’t even have to foot the bill IMO), those who haven’t had a life themselves and want to procreate to make up for this fact (train set for Christmas little Billy?), those who think they are genetically special and think they need to spread their genetic code (egghead middle class liberals) and those who want looking after when they get old (sad religious bigots who don’t practice contraception).

Jye 0 , think you've overstated the case a bit (lot) but a fine line between giving the miracle of existance and maybe a nasty life if current trends(Iraq/terrorists/etc etc ) pan out in the wrong way.

Yer I guess so Matty, but it bears thinking about m8
Edited to say it’s not a miracle, you just stick yer **** in and shake it about, or am I missing something

reproduction is no miracle, not really. Existance ,now that is a living breathing miracle, take a long hard look at the stars on a clear winters night , ask some deep questions ,and think about life death and existance ,it's a spine tingling miracle and no mistake.

I'm with Paul Hapgood on this one. am thinking about getting out of this sh*thole of a country. I just can't believe how bad things have become. Nothing is safe anymore from crime. God I used to love living here!
Australia or Canada methinks.

Barge I know what u mean, I would love to move to Canada, even tho I don't think they'd have me , but wont leave my son here for exactly the same reasons you said. Perhaps one day he might want to go to.
This place gets worse by the day with new revelations.

You could always tell the Aussies that you are seeking asylum from the UK.
Just tell them dictator B Liar and you don’t see eye to eye anymore, i.e. you used to pay your taxes and keep your mouth shut, and now you don’t

Its a bugger to get into iether of them due to the fact they have sensible laws on immigration. Unlike us.
My ex brother in law was the head of personell at singer, now thge same at richer foods, took him 15 years to get citizen ship.
A friend of mine was married to a Canadian and took 18months to get a job and a work permit. He had to apply for jobs from outside Canada and the firm had to show they could not get anyone locally to do it.
My daughter spent 364days in Australia and was allowed to work up to three months in any job. You have to be under 25 to do this.
A bit easier here, just turn up with no ID and you're in...unless you look English of course!
