Question

I have IE5 and AOL on my PC but every time I go to view any large photos first it slows right down and then it locks up the computer.

This is driving me around the bend so if anybody can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Operating system? Dial up or ADSL/Cable connection?

With Microcrap software an uninstall and re-install is often the only way - if it's NT, re-application of the Service Pack often cures these strange ones....

Also, my sister has AOL and that software is absolute PANTS. Can you dial up the 'net using some other account and bypass that AOL bollocks? You may find this solves the problem and if nothing else should improve the speed no end...

Matt.

Its a normal 56K dialup connection.

It doesnt matter if I use AOL or another account it still crashes IE as soon as large pics come on screen.

Have tried re-installation but this didn't work.

I agree that the AOL software is pants, but my work pays for it and I can use it at home gratis

Cheers

Anthony,

Before you do anything, have a go at installing the latest driver for your graphics card. IE5 has issues with large images and graphics drivers. Worth a try.

Also, don't try an load JPG's larger than 4000x4000 pixels as on many machines it just doesn't work.

Cheers

Ian
