Anyone up for a little CMR2 competition?

Let's compare times on specialstages!
Let's have a new SS every week, I trust you to be honest guys (and gals), otherwise we'll need to use screendumps, could be messy.
Choice of SS for week 9
Italy SS1
2.14.96 Peugeot 206 WRC (set by me yesterday)
/Jerry - Sweden

Is Italy SS1 same as the arcade level ?
My fastest on that SS is 1:44 if I remember correctly, in the Toyota Corolla.
Scooby is too fat and heavy for this stage, couldn't get a good time with it.
Darren.

OK, I don't know if I should admit to this, but Italy SS1 in the Ford Focus 2/23/25.
I am an old man though, you youngsters should be quick.
I'll try it in the 205 next.

S.A.M,
Man that's a damn fine time you have there. When I first went into the game I was lurking around 2.22.00 . Took me 12 attempts and the Ford Focus to get down to 2.13.77. Couldn't seem to get below 2.15.00 in the Peugeot. There must be some performance advantages with some of the cars then . You're doing yourself an injustice by using the 206. Get in the Focus and you'll probably blow my time out of the water .
Good luck,
Otis.
(BTW These are honest figures. If I knew how to screen dump you can have them)

So Otis is currently leading with a stunning 2.13.77, me in 2:nd spot with a 2.14.96.
I'll have to try the focus then...
Come on lads, one SS per week, this week it's Italy SS1, all cars allowed (the old ones have 2 much power anyway 2 be any fast).
Fun isn't it?

Geezer, having watched you play the last thing I would call it is entertaining. I saw you overtaken by continental drift!!!, your just a talentless, scroll down....etc, etc
I think the next stage to measure would be the Sweden one with the frozen lake (he says knowing he has had a good time on that one)

Are u guys playing on the PC or PSX as i cant find a ss stage in Italy just the 10 tarmac stages.
Have just done a 2.35 on the French stage one. I can definately recommend the FF wheel and pedals. Much more immersive and possible to be progressive on the pedals rather than the all or nothing with the pads.
PC game and wheel.

Thanks for the tip SecretAgentMan, just did a 2:10.34 with the lancia integrale with max suspension stiffness and two clicks for power towards the back wheels. Takes a little getting used to but definately faster.
The physics engine on this game really is very impressive. Not that i think i would do similar times in the real thing but vehicle set-up and driving technique are time critical and with the force wheel and pedals the game is completely immersive.
Time to get the get my motorcycle helmet and gloves out.( i am not really that sad, honest.)
cheers Scott

The next stages may be more fun if we limit the racing to only current WRC cars. The older models can be extremely rapid but the times at least for me are very inconsistant.
Any thoughts?. Perhaps a two stage race, for WRC cars and then anything goes? Except cheat modes of course.
Cheers Scott
