Since Blair has got in power crime has spiralled out of control, our borders have become overrun by huge amounts of asylum seekers and taxes have gone up.
and have things improved??? Nope.

You seem to think there is an easy ,obvious answer to these problems...did it ever occur to you that these problems might ALL require massive funding and/or an impossible amount of organisation...every 'problem' in society is crying out for cash, they cant all be met.(but the dome was a freekin joke/waste)

I tell you who I want in power- a party that sticks up for the British people, treats criminals like criminals and stops wasting public money on stupid policies therefore lowering our taxes.
Yes there is no half decent alternative to Mr Blair and his god awful wife Cherie. Thats the annoying thing.

As I read on another thread recently - it doesn't feel like we're in a democracy at the moment because there really isn't anyone else to vote for!!!
Wonder what Muwgabi would have to say about that?

Lewis he isn't the best we got. Hes just an extension of Conservativism. Bernard Manning would do a better job than that twit.
We claim to live in a democracy yet our voting system isn't. Why not have PR(let you look that up in a Politics book) or even first past the Post. Then maybe we could change the Tory/Labour dictatorship.
Right here's 10 policies he has wasted money on.
1. The M4 bus lane.
2. Housing bogus Asylum seekers etc costs this country billions.
3. Millenium Dome
4. The NHS(privatise it or stop fat people abusing it)
5. All his Spin Doctors and 1000s of Civil Servanst that are overpaid and useless.
6. The Prison Service- could save huge amounts in getting rid of all the do-gooding shrinks/counsellors etc.
7. MPs- they give themselves huge tax free allowances. End this.
8. Speed Cameras are funded by us. We don't want them except outside schools and accident blackspots.
9. End any Rail Network subsidising. Rail Travel is grossly overcharged and useless.
10.Too many Traffic Wardens.
There u go South-Star. Munch on that!

Numbers 2 and 7 i agree,......the rest is just twaddle mate.
Good idea ending rail subsidies and forcing more people onto the roads, why has no-one else thought of that...
#16
What, you don't agree with 4? Increased funding for the NHS ends up being spent on (a) pay rises, usually for the chief execs and (b) expensive TFT monitors

I didn't say that
The public don't like it when they have their taxes increased to pay for more public sector facilities (NHS, fire service, police, etc.) then see it all pissed up the wall when the public sector workers go out on strike for 10% pay rises.
Fact: people in most industries are getting no pay rises, or pay cuts at the moment.

South star you started a thread with one sentence 'i think he's doing a good job.'. Thats twaddle MATE! LOL
You agree with just 2 and 7??? Obviously you're some fat overpaid civil servant on Blair's payroll.
As for Rail travel it is overcharged. Look at the prices ffs. Why should we subsidise the network and not the rail operatives??? Until it comes down in price and is more efficient, then i'm commuting by car everytime. Case dismissed!
And why should I pay for someone having his third triple heart bypass who refuses to stop smoking or lose weight?? Case dimissed!
And why should i pay for someone who has ten kids on welfare and can't be arsed to get a job. Then their kids come and rob my house and get a holiday by social services IF they're caught.
Pops- Britain's future.

Blair aint perfect, but he's not doing a bad job
That was my opening salvo.
My point is he aint perfect, but as Pete says, there's no credible alternative,..and as time go's on,i must admit to developing a likening for him.
I mean you must admire anyone who can put up with 6 years of $hit.

IMHO he is doing bad job. (thats an opinion not Fact - they're not interchangeable btw Pete)
and what about ". All his Spin Doctors and 1000s of Civil Servanst that are overpaid and useless"
So you think the increase in spin doctors/advisors/cronies etc etc has directly ebenefitted people and is good value for money...errrr.... dont think so.

Personally I'm damn pleased for the UK to go from one of the lowest taxed countries to the highest in the years since New Labour took over. I love stealth taxes each and every one of them.
I'd only go and spend my money on myself and my family anyway...I much prefer it to be frittered away...It gives me a warm glow knowing I don't have to worry about my pension when I get old...co I won't have one left to worry about.
Vote Labour..I will..god bless them one and all.

It is so so easy to sit back and say that they need to do X, Y or Z: lower taxes, change policies, etc, and it'll all be sorted, and they're stupid & lazy for not seeing this. Anyone here who's tried to manage a small bunch of people, never mind something the size of the government & public services has got to agree that it's incredibly difficult to move things in the right direction. I can't begin to imagine how you would try and do some of things people want - how do you "fix" transport ? or the health service ?
Everyone wants a quick solution - just throw out all bogus asylum seekers, cut taxes, give them more money, without the slighest appreciation of the mammoth size of the task. One glance at the FBU shows it all - how simple can modernising working practises in exchange for a pay rise be ?
The second issue is that people compare the UK with paradise island - whereas in comparison with France, Germany, Italy, etc we're doing pretty good.
Anyway, I'm not a great fan of the man himself, but I agree with whoever said above that the problem isnt blair so much as there's no opposition.

If you lot think your hard done by then please feel fre to move to Germany, last month I paid 66% in deductions from my salary.
I have to pay private health insurance as there is no NHS
I have to pay a reunification tax to pay for East Germany
I have to pay an unemployment tax incase I loose my job
I have to pay for a pension I will never receive.
I get taxed at 49% and our tax is being increased this year.
My medical insurance stipulates that I am not allowed to make a claim for the first 3 months, or the first 8 months if dental.
and what do I get for my 66% deductions:
No cats eyes in the road, no street lights, I have to take my own rubbish to the tip and recycle it, there is a bin truck comes round once a week and collects rubbish that has a valid paid ticket on it, and contains the correct rubbish.
our petrol proces are going up by the day.
we have some bull**** organisation called the TÜV which dictates what you can and can't do to your car. over here even cardboard boxes have to be TÜV approved.
we have draconian shopping laws where shops have to be closed by 8pm on a weekday, 4 pm on a saturday and not open at all on sunday
So can someone please tell me why you lot are so hard done by??
I could go on but I need to drink my coffee.

Yeah, but here in Germany there's little gun crime, car crime, etc...
Depends on how you look at it. In terms of the UK's evolution into a mini-US (guns, crimes, mafia and everything), I'm glad I'm out of there. In terms of the attitude to customers (shops, opening hours) and allowing the citizen the freedom of choice on things (like being able to wash your car on a Sunday!!) I'd go for the UK any time. Swings and roundabouts.
But while my Scoob's safer here, I'll stay here Mind you, my Scoob would be safer in the middle of Afghanistan than the middle of Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester, etc ......
Btw removing the rail subsidies is a stupid idea. Immediately half of the rail companies would go bust, there would be no local rail services anywhere in the UK, there would just be the main lines around London and the long-distance East and West coast mainlines, but nothing further south than Bristol, west than Birmingham (towards Wales), or North than Glasgow or Edinburgh. Get real.
Enough for now, can't be bothered to get more embroiled in politics!
