Yes, they are still going. Tests are now generally conducted on quiet roads around schools, rather than on made up routes around playgrounds!

Tim,

i must admit, i presumed that they had been scrapped, judging by the poor standards of cycling these days (by adults as well as children).

I passed my test back in the days of penny fathings

I am sure that if this kind of instruction was made _compulsary_ at schools, road safety would improve both for the then cyclists, and probably when they became car drivers as well!

Scoobs are much quicker mate, you will have to pedal pretty quickly to get those action shots at the next meet. . Hope to be there on the 25th.

Neil,

i was more worried about the fact that "un-trained" cyclists are a bugga to scrape out of your radiator grill.

Trained ones learn to keep outa the way!
