I'm no good with this web stuff, but I'm sure you guys are!!! So here goes...
If I had an HTML form on a website, can I have the form submissions entered directly to say an Excel spreadsheet??
Or would I need it to go via something like Access/SQL first, and then export to Excel???
How easy is this to do??
Thanks in advance!
Andy

Don't know about writing to Excel, it sounds like a pain to me. It would be better to write to a database and then export to Excel afterwards.
Writing back to a database such as Access (or better still, SQL Server 7) is easy on IIS <B>if</B> you have access to the server so that you can set up an ODBC connection and run a database.
If the website is hosted by an ISP, then the answer is likely to be "no".
The code is quite simple in ASP, there's a good example

Thanks GT & Dave,
It's just for a web survey for 500 people. It's a web based questionaire, and the data would need to be analysed. As the amount of data is relatively small, and only needs to be done it one hit, I don't see the point of stretching to SQL.
If the entries could be entered directly to Excel the analysis could be done straight away!
Cheers
