Question

Any recomendations for buying a Puma 1.7? - Good prices?, bbs? tuning possibilities?

It's OK the Scooby is staying, - the missus wants a more economical replacement for the Legacy.

Loads of companies offering Puma 1.7 c/w lux packs for 11.5-12.5K in the UK - try Autotrader.

My other half runs a Puma 1.7 - great fun to drive and 40MPG. Standard brakes and suspension are great. The engine is flexible and torquy (is that a word - i don't think so!).

Tuning. Std form is 127 BHP
Hate to say it - try 'Revs' magazine or such like.
All the usual bits - Induction kits, Exhausts suspension, brakes, etc.
Supachip takes it to 142BHP £ 199.99
+ exhaust and filter to 155BHP £ 350.00.
Did read somewhere about a turbocharged one 190BHP - does not sound like a cheap option.

The 'Racing' Puma is 'only' 145(ish)BHP and .5 sec quicker 0-60 and 3MPH faster than a stock Puma - same price as a Scoob - Tough choice there.
