Tips on storing a car
Few things you can do...
Put it on blocks or axle stands if you aren't going to move it every week. The tires will degrade otherwise.
Leave some petrol in the tank but not more than 1/4 tank. Ensure the cap is loose to stop buildup of vapour.
The main enemy is humidity. Cold nights followed by sunlight during the day means vapour settle everywhere. Even in BC I guess? If you can get a dehumdifier then that's great thats mostly what the "Carcoon" does.

I am storing my '88 RX7 away for the winter. My Impreza will be the main commuter for the winter. Just wondering if you experts could give me some advice on how to store a car properly so that it will be in good condition when I am ready to drive it again next spring.
Thanks in advance.

Depending on how much cash you have there are these 'air cocoon' contraptions that are meant to be pretty good. Probably not cheap though. Basically it is a seethrough cover that envelops the car and air is blown through to stop dust etc. settling.
Thanks for the info.
No...., you see, the RX-7 is just an old car that I could never give up because it is the first car that I have ever owned. Besides, I have a thing for RX-7's. I think they are really neat cars.
As for the Impreza, it's sort of like a family car. My parents don't drive, so they bought the car under the condition that I would always have to drive them where ever they want to go....
[Edit: I don't think my parents would fit in the back seats of my RX-7]
"Till next time.

Get the car up on Axel stands, or at least chock the wheels, dont leave the brakes on, if manual use a block of wood against the seat to keep the clutch pedal down.
Make sure there is enough anti freeze in it.
Disconnect the battery
give it a very good wash and lots of polish.
clean the underside & wheel arches.
close all vents.
get a moisture preventer [(sp) silica gell] or similar in the car.
make sure scumbags can not get to it.
when you open it up to the world, do a full service before you even start itup.
