Ahhh, now we know why she made those few mistakes. What with tony running the country, her being a barrister and bringing up the children what should we expect. Really dont know how she manages.

Still at least she can console herself that shes 60K richer after her conman mate did a good deal for her.

Cool

Couldn't agree more, Snax.

Frankly, can't see what all the fuss is about. She did a property deal and got advice from a conman. Which is precisely what every other person in the country does (unless they somehow avoid using an Estate Agent).

for me there are several things that dont seem "right"

Blair introduced new code of ethics suggesting people should follow both the letter and the spirit of the law. They are now arguing over the definition of "portfolio" as to whether the purchases should have been made by the trust hardly keeping to the "spirit".

Cherie lied (misled ) the downing street press office not once - but twice. She claims to be a private individual but has had no qualms about using Downing street to host seminars etc. We can be forgiven for treating anything downing street says about her and her affairs with a pinch of salt.

She has shown "lack of judgement". Easy to see in hindsight but I'd prefer it if the Prime Minister's (even Tony B Liar) wife wasnt going round demonstrating that shes happy to make a quick buck without asking too many questions.

The fact is, she lied / bent the truth / mislead to the Public twice. The amount of cash involved is immaterieal IMO.

She is a Judge and pretty powerfull member of our judicial system. If we cannot expect a Judge to be truthfull, what hope is there for the rest of our country.

Yes this story would not have been news if it wasn't for the fact that Mrs Blair used a notorious conman, who used her name to get a discount, she denied the story, she used a blind trust to buy them whose dealings she should not be involved in.

Still it wouldn't really have been newsworthy except for her Hubby continually saying before elected that he would be whiter than white if elected.

All it really proves is you can't trust anyone.

Saw her 10 minute "confession" on the news.

What a load of bollox.....her tears don't look real, she's just trying to get some sympathy. Well, she didn't convince me.

Power corrupts, and she's abusing it big time.

What's it they say about sincerity once you can fake it you got it made.

Interestingly I wonder what she would do if some poor soul was up infront of her with a similar sad tale about just making a honest misshhhtake boo-hoo my children, sob sob my hubby, wail wail, I'm a good girl I am. I'm certain she would just smile say all's fogiven and off you go home then. Yeah right.

More importantly is someone else controlling her lips most amazing thing I've ever seen no wonder Tony's always smiling

Serves the sour-faced bitch right. About time her arrogance and superiority was taken to task.

Remember her bad grace on Jubilee day? Only person not to smile, apparently she objected to having to wear a hat, too. Pity she doesn't wear a bag over her head.

This all hides the real issue of inequality in education opportunities.
How many students have parents who can buy them a £250,000 flat for when they go to uni.
Not many.

I agree send her down and off with her head. That would be a great improvement. Sanctimonious liar who has chosen to use her position to the fullest. Now she whines and says she's down nothing wrong.
As a QC she supposed to be one of the top intellects in the country, just what does it say about her judgement to get found out in this way?

Hmmmm -- whatever happened to that "brilliant legal brain"? She thoroughly deserves the kicking she's getting.

Rule #1 in politics -- it's not the deed that gets you in the sh*t, it's the cover-up.

I cant believe how much news coverage this item has got, I mean shes made money out of a property deal, I could make 70k selling my house tomorrow, its hardly f**king newsworthy is it???

Just sums up what dominates the news these days, Im sure theres more important stuff to report on. Pathetic!

Agree with Rule #1 Brickboy

One thing didn't sit right with my mind yesterday. She "just wanted privacy" for her son Euan in his first term of University.

That doesn't explain why you should mislead the downing street press office. I cannot in any way reconcile misleading this office with the objective of giving privacy to Euan. It's an attempt to create some empathy where, IMHO, none is deserved. hence the tears...

We, the nation, should care because this is in the public interest. If she did try and influence people regarding this (press office, whomever) for her own purposes, then that is not meeting a standard of ethics that is mandated for life in the public eye.

Nick.

Doesn't anybody find it in the slightest bit odd that the wife of the British Prime Minister, a high court judge no less, needs a 'Lifestyle Guru' to tell her what to eat & how to behave! WTF!

The ugly deceitful b1+ch (IMO of course) should have spent her money on a facelift instead of a 'lifestyle guru'. I'd volunteer to do it for free if she doesn't mind my own patented 'cricket bat' method.

The money she made(well saved actually) is irrelevant. Its the "misleading" (lying) to the press office and disregard for the code of conduct Tony himself introduced that are the issues. And that is newsworthy as a very large part of their Electioneering was based around "sleaze" and the removal of it from British Politics.

Brickboy - that's rule #2 -everybody knows rule #1 is Don't Get Caught

I think the real issue for the press is that they don't expect to be lied to, not so much that she was involved with some dodgy guy, or that she made some money on property.

Having said that, the tabloids clearly relish giving her a good kicking.
