Anybody need a good reason not to over-indulge?
I think you just saw it. Poor sod. And he had the world at his feet, literally.
(His missus is still stunningly fit though. Bet that doesn't do his blood pressure any good!!! )

But he did come up with a quality one-liner:
Talking about his recent liver transplant, he said
"Apparently, I got through 40 pints (of blood) in 10 hours - which beat my previous best by 20 minutes"
Cheers

His illness may have been self induced but the counter-argument is that a high profile transplant like hise may encourage more people to donate organs.
Hes probably paid more tax than most so must be entitled to something back from the NHS (and it was no doubt done privately anyway)

It was done at the Cromwell Hospital in London. It's private, very expensive and usually full of rich arabs and their wives/entourages.
The missus worked there for a bit before coming back to the NHS.

Yeah i saw him, not very nice.
Earlier this year i caught glandular fever and was put in hospital.
My liver was getting battered by the illness, so much so that
after 2 days i looked in the mirror and i was going yellow!
To make matters even worse i was in a ward of 5 other blokes, all alchoholics (apart from me!) and 3 had been in prison in the last year
One of the guys Richard was a really nice bloke, could only have been 30
or so. We watched the footy on tv and had a laugh.
He looked a hell of a lot worse than George Best.
Anyway, luckily for me i got out after a week and made a full recovery very fast. I can drink now but am subconciously careful about it!
My Mum told me two weeks ago that Richard died after i left.
The liver is a very delicate thing, im 20 and very healthy (not a heavy drinker and dont smoke), had i not been so i would have been in real trouble!
Cheers,
Kosy
