Question

I want, I want (it's always want, but never need!!!)

I'm after a Nokia 8210, sim free, which will connect to both Vodafone and Orange.

Do any of you guys/gals know where I can get one at a bargain price?? Had a look on the internet and they all seem to be around £250-270.

Does anyone sell mobiles here, or have a friend who is willing to haggle???

Or even if someone has one for sale???

Thanks
Andy

Andy,

Obviously you haven't seen the 9110!

Moray,

Call me greedy, but I already have a Nokia 7110, for all that WAP-tastic fun.

I'm after an 8210 as it saves having to lug the big WAP-tastic phone around for those nights out, and a phone is still needed!!!

I don't think the 9110 really could fall into the small phone catagory!!!

I've seen them, but too chunky for my liking!!

"Size matters!!!"

If you or a friend is travelling you might be able to pick one up in duty free. Mate of mine picked up a Motorola Timeport for £210 at Heathrow (without a connection package).

As an alternative, have a look at the new Ericsson T28 - very smart or the T36 (due out soon).

Andy,

Let me know if you find anything, or do you know a cheap way of getting hold of a 7110?

Cool

I will be ordering an ESN free Nokia 8210 tomorrow, £210 each (+ VAT probably).

Let me know ASAP (before midday tomorrow) if you want one as they are in hot demand....... Or so I'm told.

Andy,

I want to use the Vodafone until December when the contract runs out.

After than I'll get a company phone. They use Orange.

It seems like a waste not to be able to use the phone again!!!

Question

Andy,

if you do get a "good deal" on a phone, make sure that it is not "SIM Locked" to a given network. This didn't used to be the case on Vody/Celly a while ago, but they have clamped down recently - especially on Pay As You Go phones.

Why not contact Orange and ask about transferring your Vody number to them in December - and can you buy an unlocked 8110 (or whatever) for the "street price" so long as you transfer to Orange for at least a year afterwards? The bonus is that your old number doesn't change!
