Speed bump pushes man over edge
#1
A British builder has been arrested on charges of criminal damage for allegedly digging up a speed bump in his road because the noise of trucks going over it kept him awake at night.
According to the Oxford Mail, Ian Beesley handed himself over to the police after the hump in a street in Oxford disappeared.
Beesley owns his own construction firm and said he got tired of complaining about the noise caused by trucks and cars going over the hump.
"I was cheesed off. I've been complaining about it to everyone for ages and they just haven't listened,” he said.
"If I get nicked and go to prison, so what? If they put the hump back in the same place, I will dig it up again."
Beelsley said he finally snapped and got out his digger and pneumatic drill and removed the speed bump.
