Its who dares wins in the city................

yes, think they are fantastic in a tongue in cheek way, would love to see em live

you need to get the album and listen all the way through, I personally think its a bit like Pink Floyds Dark side of the moon in the way the tracks are individually good, but they combine to make an amazing album

When Pete Tong played the first track I heard (Original Gansta Pirate Material), I cringed every time it came on.

The last track was much much better though.

Great lyrics bit of a human traffic in that it actually reflected parts of the lives of the spliffs and playstation generation. Only bad side is that some of it sounds like garage.

UK garage is gay ****.

In a lot of cases, very nearly, but to some extent that's the point. If you listen to what he talks about, you may find something else in the music. I have listened to the album many times, and still manage to find something new when listening each time.

"The Irony of it all" is one of my favourites, and very true IMHO.

I'm not a rap/RNB/garage fan specifically, but Original Pirate Material stays in the multichanger all the time.

Although not to everyones taste, I think it could grow on some people if they heard more of it.

Can someone please tell me anything more about a track I heard, B side I think, basically along the lines of "you've nicked my lighter and not bought a round". I need to find it.

Let's Push Things Forward is a wicked tune.

Got the album on the strength of that track and wasn't disappointed.

I like them, but prefered a track I heard on Giles Peterson Worldwide. It was some thing like LSJ with the Antipop Consortium and it was about hijacking Radio one. If anyone can point me towards that track, which was on white label at the time they score mighty points.

I like "The Streets" Style, but haven't been tempted to buy the album.

Still, the guy tells it like it is.

They've grown on me. Didn't like the first release (Original Pirate Material - the single) but the others are excellent. "Don't mug yourself" makes me grin every time...

Yeah I think their lyrics are great, but not a patch on the greatest lyricist of all time - Notorious B.I.G. IMHO

I'm never that impressed when I see MCs performing live (I mean on TOTP etc.) it just sounds like they're shouting. Always prefer to hear the studio tracks, but I have seen some good unheard of MCs performing in clubs before who WERE wicked. So maybe you have to 'be there' to appreciate a live performance.

Streets are cool though!

when they did a live show for radio one they played that tune so you could try their website as they have lots of those performances available for download. I have a friend who has that show on tape but i can't copy it or transfer it to mp3 as I don't have a tape player.
