Constant electricity power cuts ??
#1
I'm getting 3-4 power cuts a week, and its tripping the main switch on my distribtution board.
Trips are happening at random times (middle of night, afternoon, morning)
Just wondering that the hell it can be ? Anyone know how much a new distribution board is ?

you shouldnt need a full new dis board, maybee your main incoming switch on said DB is sesitive to undervoltage.
If you get the Mf'r and part No of the main switch on the DB i'll have a look in some of the catalouges here at work and see if I can see anything better.

You should be able to get your electricity provider to put some equipment on your feed into the house that monitors the supply, and if it's their fault, they'll fix it. One of my colleauges had a similar thing, turned out that a fuse had blown in a roadside cabinet and his house was being fed 'the long way' round the ring and his voltage was only 180volts!

I got the local Electricity company to install the monitoring equipment you mention. He couldn't find anything wrong with their connection to my house.
Question - looking at my distribution box, some of the switches are off different manufacturer - do you think this could be a problem ?
Wurzel - I regularly hose down the insides of my computer with high pressure water to get rid of the dust, so you could've hit on something there!
