Question

Why would anyone strike if you KNEW you cant win??

I am intriged as to what the Firemen think? Lets assume that they will strike for 30 days ( 1 Month ) before they realise they NEED to modernise to get more than 4%. That means they have lost 1/12th of their pay - FOR NOTHING - and its going to take a big increase JUST to get that back!!!???

Its a real shame but they are being led by someone who is on VERY good money and I would assume is NOT taking a cut???

There WAS a time when the public would have supported the Firemen COME WHAT MAY - which makes the polls that show the public against them EVEN MORE A VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE!!

This is not the place to slag them off and I will not - but I feel sorry that their families may suffer over Xmas - All for a dream that will NOT turn into reality

I think the Armed Forces are doing a BRILLIANT job and I would support them getting the Firemens lost wages dished out omonst them for Xmas!! what a superb gesture that would be!!

Read somewhere that Gilchrist earns 87k plus car a year - is that right?

I also see he wants to replace New Labour with Real Labour.

Question

Why read it Astraboy??

Why comment??

What gives you the right to tell me what to do??

It was a toned down question if you re-read it

Play on another thread - simple really, even for you??

You see the firefighters can win if only they can win backing of the TUC. What this country needs is a Winter of Discontent to get these "New Labour" freaks out of the control of government. They are a complete shambles. WE NEED A BIT OF SOCIALISM IN THIS COUNTRY and I am talking about NATIONAL SOCIALISM. That is zero tolerance on crime and the causes of crime. We need to get rid of all the freeloaders on society. If that means getting on the back of a pay dispute by a few firemen who deserve more money then so be it. Lets get Blair and his soft talking "do bugger all" cretins out of the houses of parliament as soon as possible before this once great country of ours sees Armagedon

Touch of class there (original ps)!
I don't do more than enjoy reading the reactions you get but the odd thing is some folk have been so dense recently to not notice the . and post count of your imposter!

Keep up the good work and without adding to your already sizeable ego, keep winding up the folk on here because it's one of the main attractions!

ps don't slag the muppets or we'll nick your supply of viagra and incontinence pants!

That is of course coming from a politically incorrect pillock who tries to push his opinions onto everyone else and has never actually posted anything worthy for the Subaru enthusiast. Does he ACTUALLY "own" an Impreza or is it a DREAM of his

Dottless wonder you are a **** jockey of the first order. I've posted many coherent replies to your crappy emails , as soon as you get a question or reasonable challenge you change the tack and start abusing someone else.
As you said to someone earlier lets hope you and I don't ever meet cause the quip over skirt wearing will get you a sore pair of stones from me. *****.

I am the dotted one and I WILL express my opinion as I believe I echo 80% of the UK population. THIS GOVERNMENT is the most foolhardy out of touch head in the sand brigade I have EVER experienced.

LISTEN SIDHEAD or whatever your name is. When, sorry, IF you ever have the misfortune to wrap your beloved car around another vehicle who do YOU expect will be at the scene cutting you out and saving YOUR life ? Without the firefighters and their equipment you would stand little chance if you were simoultaneously bleeding to death. DO YOU PAY COUNCIL TAX ? If so you expect a service YES ? Then it is down to the Government to provide that service. AFTER ALL that is why you pay tax, national insurance, VAT, tax on petrol/diesel, Pension contribution tax, Tax on insurance payments....DO I HAVE TO GO ON ? We are being ripped off by this GOVERNMENT. What makes its worse is we are FINANCING Asylum seekers and their up keep in OUR country.
THINK ABOUT IT BEFORE YOU SPEAK
Who deserves the money: Firefighters or Asylum Seekers ?

Yoza?? and thats the same in your head?? seek help FAST!!

Dotty and Clammie - you would both get on well, Dotty can hold clammies skirt while he looks for someone to steal the identity of (he cannot bear to be himself he is sooo worthless, see).

Clammie can then think of something else negative to contribute to a thread without worrying if his skirt will blow up!!

One thing Clammie has got that dotty HASNT is the ***** to contribute as himself - for that he deserves respect and gets it from me.

Pete 1 I agree. I have just watched Billy Elliott the film again. At the end of that strike they all went back... just a bloody sight poorer and the inevitible happened the pits closed down. At the end of the day if it aint economic and modernisation can improve it then it has to be done!

The fire service needs modernising so whether Tony is a smarmy git who you hate or someone you support, he must not give into their demands.

PSLewis2. I think you will find that the fire service is not paid for out of your tax and national insurance but out of your council tax. This is non central government funding. So the bottom line is that when these people get their extra money, it has to come from... local road repairs, refuse collection, police, libraries, old peoples homes...

Take the offer off the table. Put on a new one of 2.5% which is inflation and say carry on as before guys. It may take a year of strikes.... but you will break... all the banks are twitchy at the moment and they'll foreclose on your mortgages quicker than you can say "you get a smarter investor at the alliance and leicester!" Then they will really have something to moan about....

I take your point Yoza - and yes you ARE mixed up!!

Yes, its very noble to stand up for what you believe in BUT:-

Lets look at WHAT they believe in:-

1. They want a 40% pay rise - never going to happen - why strike?

2. They do NOT want to modernise - will HAVE to - why strike?

3. They WILL take 16% without modernisation - not happening - why strike?

4. They will NOT travel on the SAME wagon as a retained - why strike over that?

I suppose what I am trying to say is, it is a strike that they cannot and will not win. BECAUSE it is WRONG.

Now, New Labour might be dicks, Blair might be a liar, Prescott may be a fat lump of lard BUT, it does NOT make the Firemen right - they are STILL wrong and will remain so.

I acknowledge your post as yourself however - respect!

Pete
