About due a newbie on contract. Last time i had a Nokia 3330 which, after about an hour, i truely detested! Any one got an idea of what 'phones are doing the freebie rounds at the moment? My phone proir to the Nokia was an Ericsson T10s which was a great phone in every respect, other than short battery life, so i am tempted by a T68i. Any comments/advice/info! greatly recieved!
Thanks in advance (and all that jazz!)
Jase.

The T68i is pretty good if u want all the gizmo's e.g. GPRS, Tri-band, WAP, Camera, good battery etc. But Ive had it 6 months and it struggles to do the things I mainly use it for - using the menu system is slow and laggy, so is texting. The ringtones are pants and the vibrate mode is crap.
If you want a fun phone with a good colour screen and great polyphonic ringtones then try the Samsung T100. Battery life is a little poor but you get a spare with it and a data cable with it to downloads more ringtones (there are loads) and pics.

Yep u get the handset, spare battery, handsfree kit, cd with drivers on it, data cable to link to PC (serial). And you might even get a car charger too although Im not 100% sure - my girlfriend has one but not sure if she bought it as extra.
I would gladly swap my T68i for a T-100 if anyones up for a swap?

Those of you with SE T68i should really go back to the muppets you bought them from [or better still a service centre] and upgrade to the latest software revision for the phone. This should speed the phone up.
Also, if you have themes set up on the phone this can slow the menu system down depending on the size of the pictures you use.

Well I'm a big fan of Sony mobiles. Sal's CMD-Z7 is by far the easiest phone I've ever used. It has the best user interface, the jog dial works really well, the best predictive text input system and storage, good battery life, reliable and good design.
The new P800 looks extremley good and is due out soon. Details at SonyEricsson Look in the 'coming soon' section for details on the P800.

The biggest mistake SE make is releasing details of these phones and then making us wait half a year longer than necessary before it hits the streets.
Nokia - "new" phones every other week
SE - Cutting edge phones every other decade
If you like jog dial P800 is fantastic. Very easy to use, intuitive. You can view Excel and Word [but not edit].
Camera takes good quality pics [in good light].
Handwriting recognition easy to get used to.
Just found this ....

Serious wow factor.

I am looking to upgrade my T68 - thinking of Handspring treo 270, P800 or Nokia 7650, as it would be good to have PDA functionality built in. Of anybody has experience of these phones, I'd be interested in your views on them.

check out nokia.co.uk and see all the new models but as always.....
it'll be realeased for about £200 and then the following week they're giving it away for nowt.......
be wary of all the gimmicks....not worth it, remember the fone is just a means of dialling and receiving but i've learned the hard (and expensive!) way....never again will i buy the top of the range nokia's as soon as they are realeased.....best one has to be the 8210 or earlier 6210's
