(apologies if wrong forum?)
The rozzers are worrying me now, enough to persuade me to get one of these.
I think I would rather go for one of these with a Geodessey / OriginI, than a good detector. I guess you are fully protected with that combo?
Downside to a detector for me is, by the time its gone off with a laser gun or gatso, you're probably screwed. The jammer tells you if its gone off, and obviously defends you too.
Gatso's etc are covered by the Geodessey or Origin.... So whats missing?
The new worry is these police vans with the cmareas in the back, will the jammer get these beasts? I imagine the beam spread is quite low so maybe not???
Looking at the Bel LRC 100.

Mark,
I currently run the Blue I and Bel Euro 550 and have suffered exactly the fate that you stated. Between them they warn you, but don't protect you. However they give you a fighting chance. Now I am not proud of myself here, but this is an example. Travelling up the M1 late at night above the speed limit, and the detector goes off with a laser warning. Now you get so many false readings that I probably didn't react to it as quickly as I could of. Still I jumped on the anchors pretty quickly and reduced my speed as I see a Police Volvo virtually hidden behind a tree. By this time he has got me! However I was able to reduce my speed to 99mph and will hopefully avoid a ban. Not big not clever and I am not bragging, simply pointing out that they do give you a chance. However, I feel a laser jammer might be next on the shopping list.

Oh and by the way, £350 on a jammer is a lot less than a court appearance costs, fine, and 5 years $hitty insurance costs!

I have a euro 550 & LE850 (older jammer), tested the jammer & it worked 100%. I got a 6 month ban for doing 104 a few years ago (right conditions etc) so I would get 1 bought if I were you.
after all it's only a months petrol, so don't use the scoob for 4 weeks & the jammers paid for
the new Bel one is out now, not sure what the verdict is on that, but if the last one was anything to go by it was better than the snooper!!

in the case of jammers , i presume the cops know there is something not right when youre doing over 100mph and they cant get a reading .Has anybody been done for perverting course of justice with one of these?

It comes down to emitting light, which is a grey area. My suggestion is to "wing" it and rely on the fact its untested in legal circles at the moment.

Burr,
You seem to be quite wise on these jammers, which one would you reccommend. The Bel seems to be the daddy?
Ta for everyone's comments.

I'm thinking of getting one of the jammers but you can say it's for opening a garage door or gate as I have seen on a site someware!
As i'm having a new roller door fitted

You definitely need all 3.
I run Geodesy, Bel550 and Target LE850.
All of them have saved me at some point. This combination would set you back £1,000 or thereabouts, but as has been said, the long-term savings on fines, dearer insurance etc are soon covered, imo.

IMHO as long as you have the GPS / diffuser setup, you don't need the BEL550 type detector. The only thing it will tell you is:
a) Mobile Gatsos (more or less obselete in this country)
b) If you've been hit by a laser. (and I mean hit ie) already "done")
c) Which Gatsos are switched ON.... so what? (unless its a brand new one )
d) Kwik Saves, Garages, Co-ops..... etc etc etc
Try hunting down Group buys, or even give Stuart a phone at this website. Tell him I recommended you (Steve Hirst - the policeman from Wakefield) and I'm sure he'll sort you out with a good deal.

BuRR, sorry, but i'm sticking to my "definitely" with regards a radar detector.
In Essex, mobile Gatsos are very much alive and well.
Also, if you haven't uploaded your Geodesy for a few days/weeks, the Bel does offer some degree of additional backup in case there are new or re-located Gatsos.
I certainly would agree though that in town they can be a royal pain in the ****, but overall worth their place on the dashboard.

I sold mine. I appreciate that they all have a place in the whole scheme of things (but an expensive luxury @ £350 if there are no sites than what the other units are able to cover/report)
Those mobile gatsos in Essex - are they Ku band?

Yay first corner!
You guys seriously believe in this jammer thing? If its any good, that F-16 wouldn't have been shot down by an IR missile and they've got some serious jamming kit.
Anyway I think it all boils down to luck in terms of lasers and such. Tell me, how many times do you go over the speed limit and not get caught? By law of averages, you will get caught one day regardless if you have the snooper (or petrol station detector) or a jammer.

BuRR, nope, in Essex they're almost always K band.
Chris - i'd say "tricky" covers it. You have to be fairly precise in positioning, so it can be a bit fiddly. And the connecting wire to the unit is quite stiff, meaning it's awkward to thread through small places etc. But it's not beyond anyone's capabilities on here i wouldn't have thought.
Katana, luck might have something to do with it, yes, but all this kit certainly puts the odds back in your favour. There is no substitute for a high state of vigilance, but i have a clean licence still, which without my "assistance", i wouldn't have by now.
