Corally SP12G3 1:12 track
Running a 9x4 mod on 6-cells lapped faster on a large outdoors track than the 1:8th IC track cars...

We're talking about speeds well above 60 on the straight bits, with *insane* acceleration and grip.

We had issues getting the thing to steer when accelerating.

I think the fastest ever electric car was about 76MPH on a banked oval in the USA it was a TC3 running either 12 or 14 cells on a 7.2V motor The motor didn't last long but it went like double joey.

This is not doing me any good. It brings back old memories...mmmm.

Me and the missus used to race in 1:12th...and 1:10th touring at the same time as I was dabbling with a 1:10th Impact M2.
They are expensive little toys these buggers.

Best of the lot was the Corally C4 touring car - a superb car, loved it to bits.

But for adrenaline - it'd have to be the 1:12.

I raced 1/10th offroad when I was younger with my Lazer zx. I got back into it 10 years later and it was all on-road Touring cars. I love racing these cars but the off-road jumps were a good buzz. It's only now that I pay for it all myself that I realize how much my touring car is worth (£1000 approx )

all racing class 1:10th "touring cars" are 4WD with variations in drive from shaft to 1/2/4 belts 6 cells and down to 12 turn motors for BRCA comps. 1:12 scale are RWD using four cells instead of six (4.8V versus 7.2V)

I have only sprayed one shell so far. Best advise is to do lots of light layers. After the first 3 applications you should still be able to see through the shell. And let it dry in-between.
It is very tempting to rush it, but take your time.

I've had a few over the years but the best was when i went to
1/5th scale, 22.5cc petrol.

0-75 in 3 secs or just over, gearing dependant.

Great fun when not in the competition season with owners of real cars trying to out accelerate it in the big car parks...

Hated the cost of tyres and spares. Tyres were a fortune compared to *real* cars.

Biggest downside was you need a lorra lorra room to get the best outta these beasties.

Really weird with these things cause they're just like real cars with having to get the slicks warmed up before they gripped and once up to temp, seeing the tyres all sticky and rolling the rubber off them before the next session, very interesting, happy days...

Terrible pictures, but I've been known to toy around with this:

1/8th Scale, 4WD .18 Nitro

Which is actually one of these.

Yes I cheated it comes RTR, apart from breaking in the engine and transmission.

Been thinking about a Traxxas T-MAXX, damn tempting little toys

Oops, as for speed, only about 40 or so, but it will do that over just about anything
