ok, sat down with m8 last night and we were discussing things,

couple of years ago got himself in deep trouble in finances, got into a lot of trouble , seen a lawyer and got some deal sorted about paying xxx back to them.

I reckon his CR rating is -99, he has got himself sorted on the financial front ,all he has is his mortgage, his bank account has been operational for a couple of years etc standard money in money out and a small OD.

He wants to go and get a car , all commitments are finished. Will he get finance again or will bank give him a loan.

Or is his only option to save the cash,

he wants around £12k (obviously can afford the payments but his credit rating will be really bad I reckon)

any advise guys,

Thanks in advance

Jase

Check this site out (some very helpful points):

www.checkmyfile.com or www.creditscoring.co.uk

If he has been a good boy since it got sorted 2 years ago he should be OK. He might not get an on the spot answer but if he has made all due payments on mortgage etc his score will start to climb. His bank is probably his best bet.

Depends if he got CCJ's, if he has they stuff your credit rating for circa 6 years, bankrupcy is far worse 10 years i think....

from what he said, he went and got things sorted before all the red letters started,

was tired of living "hand to mouth".

So went legal before all the red letters started apperaing, he had a really good credit rating prior. I think that was the problem, things like v15A giving him a 20k limit did not help

Cool

Try here if you want your credit file http://www.experian.co.uk/ or http://www.equifax.co.uk/

Don't bother with those checkmyfile.com sites IMHO they are sh1te.

99% of the finance houses use either equifax or experian.
