Si,
How can you stop people "nicking" images off of your site? Do you not understand how the web works?
As soon as someone is looking at an image downloaded from your site they have it on their own machine. It's way too late for you to stop someone from "stealing" it since they already have a local copy the instant it finishes downloading.
Let's look at the possible ways you could stop this:
1. Check HTTP_REFERER. Well that's a **** way isn't it, it would take me 0.5 seconds to circumvent that. HTTP_REFERER is client dependent anyway, so those clients that don't send it will be prevented from viewing anything on your site.
2. Use some useless Javascript to stop right clicking to save an image. It takes how long to turn off Javascript? By doing that you also stop people from right clicking to go back, forwards, etc. I really hate it when people do that, so crap and just 100% useless! How will Javascript stop me from using something like lynx or wget?
The only way to stop people from stealing them is to not put them in apublic area. If you're really bothered watermark the images, then it doesn't matter if people take them - they'll still be passed off as your own because of the watermark. I'm not talking digital watermarks, I mean get some paint package and put some text over the image.
Hope that sorts you out, because you just can't stop people from doing what you're trying to stop them from doing
Steve.

If people want your pictures, they'll have 'em. Tough.
Even if you do implement the world's fanciest protection checking all that guff, the screen grab button still works.
Sorry mate, you're fighting a losing battle. And using Javascript to disable right mouse button clicks is the very work of Satan.

What happens if someone goes to Internet options and says "disable active scripting", or alternatively presses that little button labelled "print screen"?
Give up. It can't be done. And it just annoys people.
...and this question on protecting copyright is coming from the guy asking how to play the pirated movies that he downloaded a few months ago

I never understand why people try to stop their images being taken -
Take mine if you want them, thats what I say.
Oh and another thing - Print Screen/SysRq - easy now

Take that screen shake out of the site as well - does nothing but annoys people.
One rule in designing sites - Justify. Look at your work and justify to yourself and others why a certain part is in there - if you cant give a reason why its there then get rid of it.
Other than that good work fella, keep going
