Vodafone Live and the Sharp GX-10
#1
Has anybody got this phone and service yet? I am very tempted but the phone forums on the net seem to be a mixed bag. Most of the people that have it like it, but some have taken it back.
Can anybody tell me their experiences with this phone/network?
I am not familiar with WAP at all, can you access normal websites with this service? ie Could I view Scoobynet with this phone?
Any views appreciated,
Cheers,
Craig.

I played with both the GX10 and the Panasonic GD87 and much prefer the panasonic - seemed to have a better screen, more useable features - I think its slightly lighter too.
As for Vodaphone Live - I've not really used it, but suspect that its just a limited WAP service which won't display regular web pages (like scoobynet), but just special cut down ones.

The Vodafone Live! internet stuff is not your regular WAP sites. All the content on the site has been re-written in XML so it can be optimised for the phone your have (T68i, 7650, GX-10). It looks really good with lots of colour pictures. You can also send MMS messages and download polyphonic ring tones.
I prefer the GX-10 to the other phones they are promoting. Very compact but still has a usable screen.
more details at www.vodafone.co.uk
Anyway go and buy one as my company did a lot of the content management work.

In my opinion.
A great phone, excellent features, Live is great too.
Probs..
Very strange and weird to use... not nice when the (self proclaimed) experts have trouble. Imagine someone who is not to up on technology of phones trying to use it.
Pop along to the Carphone warehouse, we all have them with working sims and should be able to let u use it and send pics etc so u can see what its like.
I hate it for the usability but love it for the features.
