Just thought the boys in blue deserve a little respect after a little "incident" on Saturday night.
circa O'dark hundred hours (4:00am Sun morn)
opened up the scoob on a bit of deserted dual carriagway, only two possible road junction hazards still 40 limit tho and a dud gatso 100 or so yards from the end (roundabout).
who should poke their nose up to one of the junctions as I hit mach 1. I should imagine my eyes looked like our little "eek" smiley as I spied the blue and yellow flourescents on the side of the T5 850. gently on the brakes as I growled past.
on with the blues straight away and I could se him coming up throught the gears as his headlights raised and dipped with the acceleration.
of course I stopped
"and what speed do you think you were doing there sir"
about 45-50
" Ptttttffffff" was the reply
"in the back you get"
I was waiting patiently for the ticket as I was breathalised, pnc'd and generally "20 questioned"
"know how to handle it do you"
ooooohhh yes (cheesy grin)
I thought i'd better back that up with
"been doing a lot of tackdays" (blatent lie)
as it sounded somwhat arrogant.
"good, best keep it for the track tho hey, wink"
now I have a grin ear to ear.
thank you, nice to see you.
bye.
Andy.

Had something similar happen to me a couple of months ago although I wasn't quite as wreckless..
There are some nice coppers about, and some not nice ones, like every profession I guess..
Just the not nice ones give the others a bad name..
Also bear in mind they had no proof... so would have been difficult to do you IMHO..

That sounds like coming up to the mcdonalds/PC world roundabout? Where were they hiding, and haven't they got better things to do at that time in the morning

I once seriously cut up a patrol car on my way home from the pub,
pulled into my drive, they pulled up across the entrance to my drive, one of them gets out and asks me why I was so hasty, mumbled about being sorry etc. etc.. they asked if I'd had a drink, to which i replied 'Yeah one about an hour ago' (true, i never have more than one if driving).
She says 'OK' well if we see you doing it again we'll have you for it, as she's walking back to the car and then she buggered off!
Well chuffed, thought I'd at least be breathalised.

Yes your exactly right, over the railway bridge, past B&Q and the "boys" were pulling out of the moors housing estate, keeping an eye on the ******* out thieving I hope .
They were not hiding trying to catch speedsters like me, they drove up to the junction....into view and stopped at the give way sign, that's when my headlights lit them up like a christmas tree.

There are actually some guys and girls in the force. Needs to be where I live - Strathclyde Park is one of the main cruise sites in Scotland. If they get to know you then they are more 'human', otherwise they can be right gits. A few times I've been pulled and had the friendly chat, rather than the 'in the back - your attitude and driving suck - sign this little boy - look out for your points and fine (snigger)' approach that some adopt. I just have a cheery face, and put on my apologetic voice.
makes me sound like I get pulled alot - used to, but not now - just followed till they run the check then they back off.

Fuzz:
I've travelled past that camera to work for the past year and didn't realise it was not live, as sometimes they do actually turn it round to face the other way.
I know what you mean by the side of the cars lighting up like an xmas tree in the middle of the nite though. I have some weird bulbs that have a coloured reflective stuff that picks signs up for about 10x the usual distance, but also illuminates traffic cars nicely

I am glad someone cleared up the ACAB for me as I was confused too..
Burr I think unfortunatly the majority of the people that need Police envolvement are the kind of people that think exactly that..
But we are not all like that..
Hold on is this the conversation in reverse!

I just thought I'd get the first "dig" in for a change
....I've got thick skin... I think most people 'know' me well enough now to know where I'm coming from
