..........put my sister's mind at rest? She got caught by one of them van with a cam jobbies. The NIP has just dropped on her doorstep informing her that she was clocked at 42mph in a 30 limit! She has had 9 years of driving without so much as a parking ticket. What can she expect?
Anyone had experience of this sort? She has got her self in a right flap.

Points and a small fine ......nowt to worry about if you've got a clean license...

Yeah, 3 points and a 40 quid fine. If she's lucky it wont even count against her insurance.

Probably just the fixed penalty, 3 points and £60 fine (I think)

Yeah, 3 bonus points and £60..
Most insurance co.'s seem to take into consideration the ammount of speed traps etc and dont raise premiums for SP30's...
probably cause we already pay too much

Yup - I got done back in 97 for 47 in a 30. 6pts and a £40fine. The insurance co. was notified - didn;t make a scrap of difference (in fact, they were almost shocked that I'd bothered to tell 'em!!! - however, you DO have to tell them )
