One job my dad never managed to finish was replacing the belt on the tumble dryer.

I have managed to get the new belt around the drum by removing the drum from one end of the dryer.

Now I'm left with two pulleys.
By a quick look at them they don't appear to be driven.

Any ideas from anyone who's done it??

Cheers.

Haven't tried this before but I would keep a count on your fingers before, during and after this "operation"

Hi mole,

Did this on my Zanussi dryer a few months back. IIRC, once I looped the belt around the drum I had to loop it around the main pulley attached to the motor. There was one other pulley, but that was used purely to keep tension in the belt.

There probably all very different, so I'd post up the make/model.

With the power of the net you'd think someone would have access to service guides for these types of thing.

lol jasey

Thanks Stefan.
There is no pully attached to the motor, just a "shaft" approx 10mm in diameter. There are two sprung pulleys that are not driven, which are the tensioners.

The machine is a Hotpoint "Reversomatic Dryer Plus 9324" if anybody else has this model and has done the belt.

I'll have a search on the net.

Cheers.

Hi Mole,
Spooky I'm doing mine today. From what you described it's sounds the same as my creda dryer. From what I understand the drive belt goes around the shaft, and then inbetween the two pulleys to keep the tension.

I have used the digi cam for some strange things before but this is a first, hope it helps, Cheers, Grahame.
