You know the one coming off the M26 on to the A21 towards Hastings. How quickly have you driven round it? (On a dry day with the utmost care of course....)
Know any better ones?

Embarrassing "sports" cars around these sorts of bends is a major part of the grin factor of scoobies, porsches etc......
Any memorable stories? I,m bored........

I hate that bend with a passion...
I spun my previous car there traveling within the posted limit because of an unmarked diesel spill
I would recommend never lifting off when traveling in the outer lane there, when I was eventually recovered from the bank on the inside of the corner by the AA the driver explained to me that they have a real problem with lorries briming their tanks at Clacket Lane services and then as they head off to the A21 on the inside lane the excess fuel spills out of their tanks onto the outside lane
Now I take it very easy round that corner even in the scoob.

Thanks for the warning but I've never experienced diesel on that bend in the last ?10 years of commuting. Still, it only takes the once doesn't it......
If u were "within the posted limit" that means 70 and maintaining 70 round there is interesting... lifting off at that speed rather than feathering would give some serious oversteer

S reg reddish blue - appearance bog standard as I really like it the way it is but dump valve, exhaust all changed etc.
Erm to be honest it depends on the weather conditions and what sort of mood im in, done silly things that im not proud of on both bike and in car on that stretch of road
A-B no matter what road my scoob will never touch my bike unless its snow and ice but if you are talking roundabouts and sharp bends then the scoob will always corner quicker when its going a bit sideways as im not skilled enough to get the bike steering with rear wheel drift yet

Ah, wife worrying..........
You'd have thought that after 23 years she wouldn't:
Bend the passenger side bulkhead with her feet
Try to pull off the grab handle on the door
Frost up my window with one of those looks........

Sam,
It was in a 1.8 16V Corrado, with quality tyres, uprated suspension and bang on geometry (one thing I am vary keen on maintaining), in 3rd gear, overtaking a lorry. He started to drift, I eased off ready to catch the inherant lift off oversteer and before I could even blink I was sideways!
Went accross the inside lane and hard shoulder with full oposite lock on, between the lorry and a car and then the front wheels bounched over the curb into the gravel which stopped the front of the car dead and completed the 180 for me. Came to rest up on the bank facing the on coming traffic.
Calmly turned off the radio, and the engine took the face plate off an put it in my pocket and walked to the nearest phone...Police car came and reversed down from the A21, one officer spoke to me and seemed surprised that I wasn't in the Armco (becasue I wasn't going too fast officer) while the other measured my skid mark (about 10 feet long) While we were at the car I started to ask them why there was sand in between the tarmac chippings...at that point the scarpered! When the AA truck arrived he explained about the Clacket lane issue and we felt my tyres...absolutely covered in diesel!
Damage? One tyre and a geometry check!
Lucky...lucky...sod
