Cheapest/Best home insurance
#4
I use AXA through LloydsTSB, about as cheap as the rest, but really good service. We had a problem with a slow leaking pipe that caused massive damp. They paid out with no trouble for replastering, new laminate floor and decorating, couldn't have been more helpful.

You need to make sure your locks are up to scratch for the policies.
Best thing i found was that i sent them pictures and makes/models of all my locks and said that please ensure that the policy covers me when i use these locks.
I have since added another Yale deadlock as theres more theiving scum around (even the police used the p word).
Another thing to note, most insurers will insist (it will be in the smallprint somewhere) that if you have any outward opening doors that they are fitted with hinge bolts or security hinges.

We use Commercial Union.. they were outstanding when the sewers collapsed couple of years back... authorised 7grands worth of work over the phone.. They weren't the cheapest but I got good service so haven't shopped about since...
