Text messaging whilst driving
#1
I can't beleive the number of people I see doing this as I drive around the country. Do you thing that the police should have access to telephones at the scene of an accident to see if people have recently sent a text message?
I think it could be quite intersting to see how many were halfway though typing one, waht do you think?

I find it's much easier with predictive text input though. Used to be even more dangerous when I had to actually look at the phone whilst driving and sending a message.

I used to be one of those stupid text while driving people. Since i've had the Scooby, I've stopped doing it (don't know why it's taken a new car to make me realise that it ain't clever!). It's a bloody stupid thing to do. God knows what I must have been thinking before. I do still occasionally text while sitting in traffic but never when moving.

Good point Mark.
I'm borrowing a BMW 5 series at the moment. Much bigger steering wheel so easier to steer with your knees, whilst texting and slurping on a Maccy D's milkshake.

I must admit i do do it ,but only on motorways where you dont need to concentrate so much.
What i have stopped doing is reading novels whilst driving,in hindsight that was a bit stupid...

i was out on my bike a couple of weeks ago.
trying to filter through a long line of slow moving traffic i came up on a car that was right up on the white line (most others had considerately moved to the left)
when it was safe i pulled past to see the driver had the newspaper open on her lap....no wonder she hadnt seen me...
ffs, supposed she had driven into the back of the car in front?

you want to see the amount of black cab drivers in London on their mobiles.
It always amazes me, because their call costs must surely outweight their fares...
35p/min.....= £21.00 hr!!!!!!!
PS they are still overpriced scum!!! IMHO..
