1. A normal size packet of Walkers crisps?
2. Standard size tin of Bird's Custard powder?
Trying to work out how much we're getting ripped off for these in my part of the world. TIA.

Thanks Boomer - that does it! I will not be shopping in our local brit mini-market from here on in.
Get this - standard packet of crisps, we're being charged the equivalent of 51 pence. That 300g tin of Bird's Custard powder - we're being charged almost 2 quid for that!
Now, I'm sure there is a fair bit of overhead to import this stuff but I think at those prices, someone is seriously taking the pi55 !

Interested? I'd start my own import business !
Me and the wife have been talking a lot about the high prices our local mini-market dude is charging. Basically, when he opened up, the prices were reasonable and he did really well out of it - there's a very large ex-pat community here and he's got a captive market.
When France went Euro, all the shop owners/supermarkets etc. converted their franc prices to euros and then rounded up their prices (we punters get to suffer of course)...but this guy's prices seem to have gone haywire...
get this:
12 packets Walker's crisps
1 tin Bird's custard powder
1 packet of 12 pork sausages
1 bag frozen onion rings
1 packet Chicken Kiev *****
2 packets Harry Ramsden's cod
2 cans Batchelors mushy peas
2 jumbo sausage rolls
I didn't get much change out of 56 Euros - that's 35 quid fer ****'s sake !
So, we wuz thinking...maybe start up ourselves and charge reasonable prices. There's definitely a business opportunity to be had.
Right, I'm off to put that spoiler on the back of me shopping trolley. Cya later.
