It depends, were they unfaithful because they were too chicken to end the relationship they were in or was it just a fling for the sake of a quick ****?

thats crap. ive cheated on people before....not in a malicious way tho..if that makes sense. i only did it when i realised i didnt want to be with someone. cheating on them made me realise i didnt want to be with them and so i then ended it.
however...i would NEVER cheat on my current beau.
so saying once a cheater always a cheater is a load of bull.
it all depends on how much you like/love the person youre with.

In my opinion I think it depends who your with, I've never cheated but came close to it & thats when I realised there was something wrong with the relationship and ended it

i know ima. and i feel VERY bad about it. but cant change the past.
first love cheated on me blatantly with all my "friends". screwed me up BIG time. i blame him...hehehe. and before people start giving me a hard time...if you what he did to me...youd agree.

but they other way to look at is everyone makes mistakes. My mate will forgive a one night stand...twice..but if her bloke ever had an affair she'd kill him........'cos there is more emotion & thought involved

Depends on the person really. My ex-girlfriend cheated on me a year ago and has spent the last year trying to get me back. I know for 100% sure she would not do it again - lesson learnt in all that. BUT, I don't want to have to live with what she did and I don't like the way things have changed over the last year so won't be getting back with her. Its not always about whether you can trust the person after its more about whether you can love them after...you need both love and trust for a healthy relationship remember

i dont agree with staying with someone after youve cheated on them. if you cheated on them in the first place then there is something missing from the relationship and you obviously arent meant to be together.
if youre meant to be with someone....you will trust them 100% and they will you. Cheating will never be an option because neither of you will want to.
