As some of you may have read, i recently have had a problem getting my insurance sorted.

Well the day after i manage it, wollop! some woman reverses into me. Luckily she was spotted before she drove off (she admitted she would have otherwise!!!). I don't want another claim on my claim history (although not my fault) so i gave option of settling privately.

They arent going to get back to me till tomorrow, which is 48 hrs after the incident - will this be a problem if i still have to go thru the insurance - or do i just say i was waiting for their policy details etc???

I dont think so. I waited over a week or so once when I hit an animal on the A1. I wanted to get a quote "privately" before getting insurance involved to see if it was better to just sort it myself. Unfortunatley the front bumper cross-memebr had deformed slightly so it was over £1200.

Phoned insurnace company and reported it then - didnt have any hassles.
