If you are flashed by a Gatso, how long does it take to get a NIP in the post ? I am told after 17 days you are in the clear and they can't prosecute. Actual is 14 days but they are allowed 3 days for the post

Bluto, I believe you are correct with the timing. How many days
until you are in the clear?

My experience has been to get the ticket within 5 days (this has happened twice).

But that was years back and they may be slower these days as they have to issue 10,000,000,000,000 tickets a year

I Hope you are lucky enough not to get one mate, I cover 40,000 miles approx every year in my scooby & have been flashed 3 time, but never recieved a ticket!. Aparently (According to a Copper Mate) the local constabularies cant afford to keep on top of changing the films as often as they need changing (just where does all our fine money go??)

Good luck m8

Technically they have to post the NIP in such time that it would be expected to arrive within 14 days under the normal service of the post office. So If they post it on day 13 and you get it on day 15 then it is void. If however they post it on day 5 and it gets lost in the post and arrives a month later it is still valid.
