Finepix S602 Zoom
#1
Ok, so I have started my research & this camera looks good at 562GBP (inc 128mb). As an additional feature, I quite like the amount (& quality claimed) of movies that can be taken.
Any users out there who can pass comment on this camera or offer worthy alternative suggestions?
Cheers

Friend of mine has just bought one! - One word SUPERB! I have the fuji finepix 2600zoom but this is a definate class above. I am sure he paid less than that though. Try www.fotosense.co.uk or www.comparestoreprices.co.uk
Oh and I believe (although havent seen) that the video feature is good also.

dude,
got one too. Neat feture is that it now takes CF cards and so even a 1gb Microdrive will fit.
Video is very useable, pictures are fantastic... will have some to show you soon. Very usuable in fully auto mode, but has all the settings a la proper SLR
Go for it....

Also interested in this too, my main question is the speed of shot..
How quickly does it take the shot on the shutter release being pressed, this is my biggest annoyance as most digital cameras tend to have a slight pause before the shot which is a right pain..

Apparently.....(just had to ask my other half as she knows better than me :> ) .....
You can set the camera to take say 5 shots as soon as you press OR release the shutter button. As for speed that it actually takes them its something like 0.02 sec delay on this model. We had a 2400 before and that was very slow in comparison. Havnt got the manual to hand but you can download the pDF from fuji.co.uk

You're talking about shutter delay.
The s602 is better than the 6900z, and I'd go far to say that it's class leading from limited exposure to it. Fuji have smartened up the electronics, but there's still a delay but it's workable with.
Use focus lock, and exposure lock, and you'll find you can work with it.
Best advice: try before you buy, but also be aware all digital cameras, excepting digital SLRs, suffer from this to some extent in my experience.
