Picture the scene….. there we were, stripping out the cars for Banshi’s charity banger racing, in a small holding area. We’d just finished stripping out a pug 205, so I’m looking round for another car to start on. I shouts lets start on that tatty looking escort, pointing to the only escort in the lot parked up with the other prepped bangers. The wife and BobT say’s no that’s Banshi’s car, and I’m like so?? Doesn’t he want us to touch his banger just in case we sabotage it(wifes racing as well you see), come on lets start it’s getting late, oh and by the way, can I have the mirror glass from the wingmirror(long story), I’ve already got my fingers behind the glass ready to yank it out, after all you don’t need/use mirrors in banger racing!! No No it’s Banshi’s car, I’m like I know you said, but I’m sure he won’t mind me pulling out the mirror. So the Banshi appears and I ask him if I can have the mirror, and he says no no you can’t coz it’s my car, I know it’s yours, ……..then the penny finally dropped, it was actually his everyday car and the look on his face was priceless. You see he also has a mondeo which was there as well so I didn’t twig at all, the wife and Bob thought it was highly amusing, but of course Banshi didn’t!!

Makes me smilie thinking about it now
