I took my Sid's in for a service in the week, picked them up tonight and they presented me with a bill for £46
Apparantly they put £10 worth of oil in them
I ended up paying £40, still fricking expensive I thought...
Is there any good online web sites for bike servicing?

Best way is the DIY route. There's loads of books available to tell you how to look after your bike. If lack of confidence or specialist tools is holding you back, I'd try and find a small, independent retailer close to you and give the high street boys a miss.

£40 is a tad on the steep side, I service all my own bikes (chance to show off) Schwinn Stragith 8, Specialised fsr M4 and a GT Zaskar limited edition ;o) It is not hard to service suspension bits yourself even if you only have a basic knowledge of mechanical stuff. There aren't that many specialist tools you need, but do buy a good quality pump (Sid's are air sprung aren't they?) and don't scrimp on cheap oil it definately does not last as long as good quality stuff. I use Silkolene oils myself and save vast amounts of money by buying it (in slightly larger quantities) from motorbike shops. If you are worried about how to take stuff to bits magazines like MBUK usualy have guides in them on how to do stuff. My bet is that they have done Sid's at some point.

MG,
Sounds like the going rate for a shock tune-up/rebuild.
TunedShox (great guys, mega quick turnaround) have a price list on their site somewhere to get a rough idea. I sent my SID XCs to them a while back and got them back (IIRC) 28 hours later.
Don't bother now as I don't have any suspension at all on my mbike
Cheers

I'd go along with IWatkins - Tim is the best when it comes to sorting RockShox products. Cannot recommend him highly enough.
And yes £40 is to high for servicing SID's
