Turboman

Only my understanding, but.....

After 4 years you can apply for a replacement licence and the points will not feature. However, for insurance purposes etc, you can ignore speeding fines (but probably not D&D bans!) after 3 years.

Endorsements remain on a counterpart licence for:

11 years from date of conviction for offences relating to drink/drugs and driving, causing death by careless driving whilst under the influence of drink/drugs and causing death by careless driving then failing to provide a specimen for analysis

4 years from date of conviction for reckless/dangerous driving and offences resulting in disqualification

4 years from the date of offence in all other cases

The three years comes into account for losing it, if within 3 years you accumalate 12 points bye bye licence, but you can in theory collect more if there is a 12 month gap so you could have 15 points in four years and still have a licence just wouldn't be able to insure anything less than a robin reliant.

they count (can be added to your total) for 3 years. they can removed off of the counterpart to your licence after 4 years.

insurance companies want to know of offences in the last 5 years.

3 years - points count towards tot up
4 years - points can be removed from your license
5 years - insurance companies don't need to know about them

There are certain points that don't get removed after 4 years

I agree with Chockymonster on this one..

At least that is what has happened on my licence with my <cough> history of 15points total, so far.. not clever... but you live and learn <I think>..
