Do Mobile Phone Companies Record?
#1
Heard it mentioned before, never know whether it is true or not.
Do mobile phone companies record our mobile calls?
If so, if we know the time and date, is there any way of asking for a copy?
Cheers

Of course they don't.
a) Privacy - legally they would have to notify at least one of those involved in the conversation at the start of each call.
b) Storage - think of the volume of calls they'd have to store!
Who was it you were calling and why do you need the conversation? If you're trying to win an argument with a woman, even a recording of the conversation won't prove that what she said was wrong.

Hello
They don't record the conversation.
They do however record (and keep) all the phone calls that you have made and which cell you were connected to.
So in theory they can trace where you are / have been.
Steve.

I have done a lot of work with the Customer Services side of one of the big phone networks, to the best of my knowledge they do not record peoples calls and cannot unless the police/security forces have a court order or permission from 'on high in the government or a damn good reason (i Believe Bin Ladens phone is bugged ) or they ask your permission, like staff training when you call Customer services.
Invaision of privacy an all that.
You can be tracked quite accurately by triangulating four signal as long as your phone is switched on but tha is another story.

as shown in the 1997 movie "Independance Day", they also use an Apple Laptop to hack into the Alien's Computer System, I assume this was all under the assumption Apple and the Alien's Computer were all bluetooth enabled at the time, and that programs written on the Mac (a virus in this case) would work on an Alien system, therefore they (the aliens) are proberbly using IE and he (Jeff Goldblum) sent them a VB script virus, which fcuked up their Microsoft Exhange server and hey presto caused some dll's controlling their shield generators to fail - apples are wonderful toy's...
apart from that the film is a laugh
