Is it true that if you have "falling" dreams- e.g. where you are on the edge of a a clifftop- that if don't wake up before you actually hit the bottom you die?

My worst one recently involved teeth. I had all of mine pulled out by the dentist. Apparently it means someone was telling me lies. I knew who it was and disassociated myself from them and don't have the dream any more.

I've had a couple of the falling out teeth ones recently. Actually got up to check them!!
For 2 whole weeks I dreamt every night about being pursued (not by dusky maidens either), every scenario was different but would always get the feeling of being chased without seeing what by in the dreams. Really fcuked the head up during the day too.
I always dream most after a good bevvy, anyone else find this?

I used to get a freaky recurring dream when I was a kid, used to frighten the **** out of me.
Thankfully it stopped years ago.
There was absolutely huge amounts of this black stuff that was chasing me, it would seem to dry, stop for a bit, then split open like pillow lava does and start chasing me again. I could keep escaping from it for a while by travelling along a road as fast as I could. I can remember seeing the white line on the road constantly flashing past like I was laying on the bonnet of a car looking down at it.
If I stopped to look back I would see a single daisy that was then instantly engulfed by the stuff.
I would keep trying to get away until I got to the end of the road where there was a cliff with a crack in it, I got into the crack the stuff caught me up and squashed me to death.
I didn't wake up until I died either!

I used to have 2 recuring dreams as a kid, one i used to be thrown down the stairs and started to fly into the arms of a old woman that used to look after me as a 5 year old, i would then go to the back of the stairs, in the storeroom and would climb down under the last stair and into a dark underground cavern. Had that one for years?
The other was very anoying, i would just have this image of a spinning spiral in front of my eyes and couldnt stop staring at it, it would spin faster and faster and i would get nearer to it, seemed to last for hours?
dreams i have now i couldnt divulge in the main.

LOL @ alcazar
I used to suffer from night tremors when I was a child. I'd have a spooky reocuring dream and sleep walk through the house shaking (so I was told)
Can remember waking in the morning feeling petrified.

I have some really bizarre fcucked up dreams. I had a wierd one a couple of months ago.
I was the leader of a Police Swat type unit. I was going through a house and got to the front door looking for the last suspect. As I approached I saw the Spy hole and looked through. Before I did this I thought to myself I shouldn't do it. I looked and saw a double barrel being leveled at me, I dived in to the front room as it went off and took half my face off. I lay dying on the floor thinking well that's it, when another member of the team came over and told me not to give up, I floated out of my body and looked at it. Just as I was about to die the team member shook me and I woke up due to a body spasm.
My head was all groggy and tingly. That **** me up for a few days.
Also have a re-occuring dream where I am being persued by Aliens from the film of the same title. All ways near identical dream.
I have also dreamnt I spent the night lifting weights. I woke up shattered. My body was convinced I had been.
Also have been married in a dream, absolutely loved the woman, woke in the morning and was depressed for the day, I felt as If I had lost the love of my life.
Just a few of the one's I can remember and will commit to text.

I have this Dream that I am awoken by the security light out the back of my house and when I look out the window there are these creatures on all fours but human like ripping apart what seems another being and eating from it, my patio is covered in blood and its bright red as I seem to dream in colour, I open the window shout at them, they stop for a moment look up then then carry on feeding, then more arrive untill there about 5 or 6, they then look up at me and try to scale the outside of the walls to reach me, at this point I tend to wake up sweating my little socks off.
Can someone explain this dream to me ?????????????

Hey!!!!!! That's my response!!!
Apparently.....the falling dreams, the ones that wake you with every muscle appearing to contract, are a mild form of epileptic fit, and we all have 'em to a greater or lesser extent.
Flying/ floating dreams are supposed to be the psych's desire for a return to the weightlessness of the womb, and the lack of responsibilities you had there.
Chasing/chased dreams are all about anxiety.
That's what a lot of dreams can be traced back to, apparently, as it's the brain's way of working through/ making sense of some of the things that have troubled it during the day. Hence, more stress, more bad dreams.

I dream about Evo's and Imprezas And oddly enough, there was an Aston Martin in one the other night
Apparently, dreaming about parked cars means that i should slow down and take a good look at life or something

Still here! One of my friends had a recurring dream of swimming through a dark hole- supposedly this was not a dream as such but her remembering the experience of being born.
