TV Warranty Claim from Sony Centre??

I know Sony Centre is not a chain but a franchise, however Im wondering if they all use the same warranty company?
I bought my TV (32" 100hz wega) Jan Y2K with a 5 year warranty. Today the missus turned it on with the remote and it made the click sound and then the power light flashed - after this we smelt burning. Switched it all off and left for 10 mins. Turned back on and it just does the same with the power light (bottom right next to ON switch) flashes every few seconds.
Anyone had to make a warranty claim through Sony Centre - if so any problems?
