At the risk of being branded some dougy-no-mates computer nerd, yes. All that happens is you swap a few messages to see if you have anything in common and if so why not meet up for a drink. It is then no different to meeting someone "in real life". Worked for me.

Met my last girlfriend on the Net, spoke for a while on the net, met up and were seeing each other for about 9 months. Unfortunately she turned into the psycho hell bitch, and didn't seem to understand it was over, so I got evil text messages and lots of silent phone calls from withheld numbers. But she seems to have got the message now, its only taken 10 months to hammer it in to her.
