Would you look in the local paper in the classifieds and see if any garages are available for sale or rent? I'm coming to the uni in about 3 weeks time, the council only let to tenants and none of them are near the halls anyway. I will be living in Earnshaw Hall on Endcliffe Crescent in the Broomhill/Ranmoor region of Sheffield - S10 3EG.

What student grants 
A loan is the best you can get (generally) - that just about covers the hall fees.
